Volume VII
Perspectives
Essays and positions from the house that cut across the library.

Essays and positions from the house that cut across the library — the wider view on how the top of the travel market is changing. This volume is in preparation.
Perspectives is the house's editorial voice — essays and positions that cut across the rest of the library and take the longer view on how the top of the travel market is changing. Where the other volumes explain how things work, this one argues about where they are going: what is improving, what is quietly getting worse, and where the industry's convenient stories do not survive contact with experience.
The pieces here are opinion in the proper sense — reasoned, sourced, and willing to disagree with the prevailing wisdom of the trade. The house has a point of view on commissions and incentives, on the difference between a brand and a standard, on the creeping automation of a business that is fundamentally about people, and on the gap between what the luxury travel market advertises and what it reliably delivers. This is the volume where those positions are set out and defended.
Perspectives also serves as the connective tissue of The Maison Edit. An essay here will often draw a line between hotels and recognition, wealth and mobility, or events and the relationships that make them work — using the house's frameworks to make a wider argument rather than to answer a single question. It is the volume for readers who want the thinking behind the thinking — the reasoning a client would otherwise only hear across the table, set down in full and open to challenge.
This volume is in preparation. As positions are written and reviewed they will appear here, held to the same standard as the rest of the library: no claim without a reason, and no reason the house is not prepared to stand behind. Until then, its concerns are visible throughout The House and Hotels & Recognition.
This volume is being written. Its first pieces will appear here as they are completed.
